Zomato » has introduced an innovative feature called "Food Rescue," aimed at reducing food waste by allowing users to purchase canceled food orders at discounted prices. The initiative targets minimizing food waste by offering unclaimed meals to nearby customers at lower rates. These meals are carefully packed and remain untampered with to ensure both quality and safety.
In terms of payments, Zomato has announced that it will only retain the applicable taxes from these transactions. Meanwhile, restaurant partners will receive both the original payment for the order and an additional amount from the resale of these canceled orders, providing them with an opportunity to benefit from the situation.
