Following reports that a food safety raid at Zomato’s Hyperpure warehouse » in Hyderabad had allegedly uncovered 90 packets of button **** with a "future packing date," the company's co-founder and CEO Deepinder Goyal » clarified that this was a result of a vendor error.
In a post on X, Goyal confirmed that the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) team had indeed found 90 packets of button **** with incorrect packaging dates. However, he emphasized that these items had already been flagged and rejected by Zomato’s warehouse team during routine quality control inspections.
Goyal explained that the incorrect packing dates were due to a manual typing error by the vendor, who has since been removed from Zomato’s database » . He reassured the public about Zomato’s commitment to food safety, stating, “We are dedicated to adhering to industry food safety standards and ensuring product quality at every stage of the supply chain.” He further highlighted that the recent inspection at the Hyderabad warehouse resulted in Hyperpure receiving an A+ rating, the highest possible benchmark in their evaluation.
